What kind of activities will be included in the meetings?
Activities include singing, games, and a Bible lesson about a character trait.
How often will these meetings occur?
We meet weekly on Saturday at 1:30 PM.
How long is each meeting?
Each meeting will be from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM.
How much involvement is needed on the parents' behalf?
Parents will need to drop off/pick up their children at Heritage Baptist Church.
Is there a fee or will I be expected to donate to attend GLOW?
GLOW is a completely free program for children from 1st to 6th grade! If you would like to donate to this ministry, please reach out to us for more information.
I have a child in kindergarten, can he/she attend?
If the kindergarten child has an older sibling also in GLOW, the child may attend as well.
Can parents stay during the meeting?
For safety and to stay in compliance with the COVID-19 guideline from Alameda Public Health, we can only allow authorized personnel to be in the room to meet the allowed capacity.
What will the parent do during the meeting time?
There are many shopping centers near our campus, such as Costco, Walmart, Marina Outlet, New Sang Chong, and more where you can get your errands done while your child attends GLOW. If on campus, we ask that you not converse with other parents for safety reasons. Masks must be worn at all times.
Is transportation available?
Transportation is not provided at this moment due to the safety of the children and workers during this pandemic.
What are you doing to ensure it is safe to meet in person?
We follow the guidelines from Alameda Public Health closely to ensure it is safe for the children and workers to meet in person. Practices such as mandatory face mask, proper social distancing, limited capacity, temperature check, and proper facility sanitization are practiced.
My child just has the sniffles, can he/she still come that week?
If I already attend a church, am I still welcome to attend GLOW?
Yes! You are welcome to attend GLOW even if you are already attending another church. The goal of our club is to help teach children to become the shining light in this world for Jesus.
